Happy Family Day! Here’s a list of what’s open and closed for Family Day:

Some lucky people get to enjoy Ontario’s newest holiday and we all can expect the usual business and service changes.

All banks are closed, but post offices will be open. Ottawa City Hall is shut down for the day, along with the seven other government service centres and the Laurier Avenue courthouse.

Federal government offices are open.

There will be no residential garbage, recycling or compost pickup on Family Day, with people whose collection normally happens Monday now needing to have it out by the curb on Tuesday.

Residential collection for everyone will be pushed back one day, except for multi-residential garbage collection which goes ahead as scheduled.

OC Transpo will be running a revised weekday schedule with minor adjustments.

Beer Store and LCBO locations will be closed, along with Place d’Orleans, the St. Laurent Centre and Bayshore Shopping Centre.

The Rideau Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Libraries and city-operated childcare centres are closed for the holiday, while recreation facilities will be running modified hours.

The Rink of Dreams at City Hall will be open, as will Billings Estate National Historic Site, Pinhey’s Point Historic Site and the Shenkman Arts Centre.
